Fists of Fury Painting Challenge
Since our May release was such a different theme for us, we wanted toĀ celebrate it with a Painting Challenge.

The Judge
Our judge for this challenge is Filipe Caern, a respected figure in the world of miniature painting. After a successful 13-year stint in law, Filipe made a dramatic career switch and has been impressing the miniature painting scene for the past seven years. His talents, recognized in several Brazilian competitions, have led to collaborations with studios like Loot StudiosĀ and ourselves, as well as with private collectors worldwide. Filipe also shares his knowledge through his course, Caern Essential (available only inĀ portuguese as of now, but that can change in the near future), and his support and friendship have been invaluable to Flesh Of Gods, adding a special touch to our painting challenge.

Evaluation Criteria
Artistic Technique
Execution of painting techniques, including texture, shading, skin and advanced methods like Non-Metallic Metal (NMM) and Object Source Lighting (OSL).
Visual Representation
The use of color harmony, contrast, and material representation to create a visually appealing miniature with depth and dimension.
Presentation Quality
Last but not least, the quality of the photographs, effectively showcasing the miniature's details and aiding in the overall evaluation.

Techniques
The skin is well-executed, standing out as a highlight of the piece. The Non-Metallic Metal (NMM) effect is noticeable, adding a layer of complexity to the miniature.
Color Application
Good choices of colors that work well together, demonstrating a solid technique. The overall application enhances the miniature's aesthetic appeal.
General Improvement
Invest in better photography to fully showcase the miniature's potential. Additionally, refine transitions in leather areas to smooth out the texture and avoid visible brushstrokes.

The piece features well-chosen colors that represent the materials accurately. The overall color scheme enhances the figure's realism and appeal.
Lighting Effect
The Object Source Lighting (OSL) effect is effectively implemented, adding depth and dimension to the miniature. This technique brings a dynamic quality to the piece.
General Improvement
To elevate the quality, focus on increasing contrast to add vibrancy. Additionally, refining the transitions and dispersion of the OSL effect will create a more realistic light interaction.

Marvin is ready to explore and improve on advanced techniques like Stippling for textures and Non-Metallic Metal (NMM). His current technique is solid.
